Am I there yet – The FIRE calculator

There is so much cool stuff on the internet, and recently I found one of those things that I just have to share with my crowd.

It’s the campfirefinance blog/website. Not only is it a really cool FIRE blog, but it also sports a very comprehensive list of all the FIRE blogs that can be found online. They also have a cool FIRE feed which gathers all the articles from the list of FIRE blogs on a daily basis.

Coolest thing though is the “calculator”. The FIRE calculator which will – depending on starting values – calculate your progress towards financial independence.

Off course I had to try to put my numbers in. So as of now, 850k in portfolio and retirement funds totally for me and the wifey. Monthly savings in the order of 7k.

Expecting that I can live if 3k, and kept rest of the assumptions as is.

Heureka – I will reach FIRE in 6 months.

This is excellent.

Only small catch though – wifey might not agree that I should utilize all of our saved funds to go towards my early retirement. Dammit.

If we both have to go – guess we can live off 5K a month then. Gotta find them synergies. -> Input numbers. -> Find result.

Come on magic 8-ball

WTF. 64 months. That is too long. Way too long. I’ll settle for one then.

Today is actually our 13th anniversary. I am proposing again. A proposal for a single game of;

✂️ scissor

🧻 paper

🥌 rock

Come on LUCK! Get me off that grind.
